EP-608 Robotic surgery in Inflammatory Bowel Disease: single centre experience

Abstract Aims Minimally invasive surgical approach has been shown to be beneficial especially with its utilization in the rectal dissection for management of malignant disease. There growing interest robotic diverticular disease and inflammatory bowel (IBD). The aim this study is present our local institutional experience following implementation a service benign colorectal Methods Data on patient demographics, intraoperative details, length hospital stay (LOS), postoperative complications were collected prospectively 30 day follow up. Patients included those who underwent ileocaecal resection, subtotal colectomy, anterior panproctocolectomy or proctectomy between April December 2021, including disease, IBD, chronic constipation. Results Seventeen patients included. 35% male, median (IQR) age was 38 (22) years BMI 23 (2). Procedure duration 181 (125) minutes, one conversion open surgery. LOS 9 (6) days required admission HDU day. N=3 (18%) had ileus, n=1 (6%) an anastomotic leak, acute renal failure, chest infection. Two collection requiring percutaneous drainage. No return theatre deaths recorded. Conclusions Our early demonstrates encouraging outcomes as well feasibility safety managing Future studies larger samples will allow draw more definitive conclusions.
